Perimenopause Information

Supporting women going through all stages
of perimenopause and onwards.

A few weeks ago we found out we had been nominated for a South Tees Health Watch Star Award. Honestly we were absolutely over the moon.

Today we attended the awards ceremony at Inspire 2 Learn in Eston, its been a long time since events like these have taken place and it actually seemed a bit odd to be in a room full of people! But it was fantastic all the same.

We listened to nominations from some truly inspiring groups and individuals, those who have delivered services throughout the covid pandemic, we actually felt humbled to be considered alongside them.

Perimenopause Support UK was in the Innovator section, unfortunately we were pipped at the post! The winners were however well and truly deserved, they have developed training for local healthcare professionals to help spot early signs of domestic abuse, inspiring work guys.

I also got a special mention as….wait for it…. I have a new job with Health Watch South Tees! I’m so excited to start and it really aligns with all our work in the Perimenopause Support group. I will share more about this going forward. I must admit I did blush a bit!!!!!

As all good events should, there followed a delicious buffet and networking opportunity. There were some familiar faces and also new connections including the leader of a local men’s group called walk and talk. He was really interested in our groups joining together (I see another Facebook live in the making). So we are going to plan this in,  better dust off the old walking boots!

What a wonderful experience.  But the award really goes to each and every person who takes the time to support, listen, to break down barriers and open up the discussion on perimenopause.

To even get a certificate is a massive achievement in our eyes
